Desert

The desert poster is from an area called "desert" on Anholt. It is one of Denmark’s most stunning landscapes, and it can be explored for days. The flat land, the fresh air and the silence have to be experienced. Sometimes the silence was broken by the sporadic seagull colonies that squawked and screeched when we got too close. The desert is a protected area, and even during August, it is mostly deserted.

The poster shows the desert road that goes from Anholt Lighthouse to the town. Due to the dry summer, the desert had a reddish colour where it was usually green. The photograph was taken late in the morning when the sun was shining through the clouds and created a contrast in the flat landscape.

The poster is included in the Denmark series, where Foto Factory publish posters from the Danish countryside. The Danish islands often contain a unique scenery and a pleasant environment around the small towns and ports.
