Photograph of Yesnaby Castle on the rocky coast in the west of Orkney. The photograph was taken on a relative quiet day and show the beautiful coast of Yesnaby. Orkney is located 16 kilometers north of the coast of Scotland. Orkney comprises of approximately 70 islands, of which 20 are inhabited. It is an exciting place to be and the islands offers a diverse countryside and many small communities on the different islands. One of the most beautiful places is the dramatic coast of Yesnaby. On a quiet day this is a peaceful place, but when the wind rages, it can be nearly impossible to move and take pictures. The wind makes it impossible to hold the camera still and spray from the sea greases lens and camera.
The photograph is part of the Scotland series and is one of our most exclusive photographs from Scotland. The selected images show the nature and landscape as natural and detailed as possible. It’s important that the image appear on an authentic and natural way.
