Skagen's waves poster of the sea at Denmark's northernmost point. At Skagen beach, the Skagerak meets to the west and the Kattegat to the east. It is an encounter with different water, waves and currents. At the far end of Grenen, seals lie and rest while the sun disappears on the horizon. There is the most amazing light and the waves form a simple composition along with the clear sky.
It is fantastic to stand on the beach in Skagen looking out over the sea and enjoy the beautiful light and the waves that hit together. It is easy to think of Krøyer's paintings on such a beautiful evening at Skagen's beach. We are busy photographing the beautiful light while the sun disappears. We think back to the Skagen painters and how skilled they were at capturing the mood.
